While it is possible to simply memorize the definitions and interpretations provided here, it is easier and better for quality of interpretation for a cartomancer to learn the elements and how they are represented within the Deck. Further, a basic understanding of those fundamentals provides a conceptual framework that makes memorization of specifics largely unnecessary. After studying this text in its entirety, a cartomancer should be able to examine the diagram below and recall the meaning of any card in the deck with little difficulty. They need only be familiar with the Twelve, their symbols, and the basic meanings of the suits. The only key remaining is knowing the first card of each suit relates to an abundance of its own element. The rest follow in logical order. New cartomancers are encouraged to keep this page at hand when attempting the shift from consulting the book to interpreting from memory. A particularly clever one might even embroider it onto their cloth or bag for ease of access.
